Party Songs- Robin S.- Show Me Love

Moses Jones Rock Funk Orchestra Party Song Thoughts:
I remember dancing and singing to Show Me Love in the 90’s. It was a song that would have everybody on the dance floor, dancing the night away. This song was also used a lot in workout routines and dance. Robin S. really had a powerful stage show that would capture you from beginning to end

Lyrics

Yeah, yeah, yeah
************************************************************
Always been told that I’ve got too much to write
Too independent to have you by my side
Then my heart said, all of you will see
Just won’t live for someone until he lives for me
Never thought I would find love so sweet
Never thought I would meet someone like you
Well now I’ve found you and I tell you no lie
This love I’ve got for you
Could take me ’round the world
Now show me love
************************************************************
Show me love, show me life
Baby show me what it’s all about
You’re the one that I ever needed
Show me love and what it’s all about, alright
************************************************************
Don’t waste this love I wanna give to you
Tell me what you got, show me what you can do
Show me love, show me everything
I know you’ve got potential
So baby let me in and show me love
************************************************************
Show me love, show me life (alright)
Baby show me what it’s all about
You’re the only one that I ever needed (show me love)
Show me love and what it’s all about, alright
************************************************************
Show me love, (oh, show me life)
Baby show me what it’s all about (what it’s all about)
You’re the one that I ever needed
Show me love and what it’s all about, alright
************************************************************
Show me love baby
Show me everything you’ve got and show me life
Show me love baby
Show me everything and what it’s all about
************************************************************
You’re the one, the only one I ever needed
Show me love and what it’s all about, alright
I’ll love you
I’ll miss you
I’ll make sure
Everything will be alright
I’ll give you my heart if you just give me love
Every day and every night
Show me love, (yeah)
Show me life (alright)
Baby show me what it’s all about (me what it’s all about)
You’re the one that I ever needed (show me love)
************************************************************
Show me love and what it’s all about, alright
Oh
Show me love, show me life (alright)
Baby show me what it’s all about
You’re the one that I ever needed
Show me love and what it’s all about, alright

Party Songs~

Here it is, our party song of the day for the Party Songs series in this blog:) I hope you like it and I hope you email me more suggestions (moses@mosesjones.net). I’d love to know what you think are the best party songs of the today or of those that are timeless ~

Party Song Details from Wikipedia:

Show Me Loveis a song by American recording artist Robin S. It was written by Allen George and Fred McFarlane and originally released in 1990 by Champion Records in the United Kingdom. In 1992, it was remixed by Swedishhouse music production duo StoneBridge & Nick Nice, and re-released in many European countries as well as United States and Japan. It became one of the most well known house anthems in the United Kingdom, and Robin’s biggest hit to date. The song is often confused with her following single “Luv 4 Luv”, which is compositionally similar and was released around the same time, and with the 1997 hit “Show Me Love” by the Swedish pop singer Robyn.

In the US, “Show Me Love” reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and number seven on the soul chart, and reached number one on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. In addition the song went to number six on the UK Singles Chart in April 1993. It was sampled in 2011 by American singer Jason Deruloon his hit single “Don’t Wanna Go Home“. In 2013, the song was sampled by American rapper Kid Ink on the track “Show Me” featuring label mate Chris Brown, the first single from his debut album, My Own Lane.
