Many Mexico resort weddings default to a DJ or a resort band that doesn’t know your songs. Bringing your own band is easier than most couples think. Here’s how it works.
Check your resort’s outside-vendor policy
Most resorts in Cabo, Cancún, the Riviera Maya and Puerto Vallarta allow outside entertainment, often with a vendor fee and some paperwork. Ask your resort wedding coordinator early.
Get one clear quote
Ask your band for a single quote covering performance, sound, flights, lodging and gear. That makes it easy to compare with local options.
Plan for the setting
Beach and cliffside venues mean wind, sand, heat and sometimes strict sound limits. Sunset ceremonies are beautiful, so plan the reception timeline around them.
Pick the right season
Fall through spring is the most popular season in Los Cabos. Late summer is hurricane season, so ask your planner about weather plans if you choose those months.
Use the band twice
Since the band is already traveling, many couples book a welcome party or rehearsal dinner set too.
Our experience
