December Fridays and Saturdays are the most competitive dates of the year for Denver venues and entertainers. If you’re planning your company’s holiday party, here’s a simple guide.
Lock in the date first
Venues and bands book December weekends months ahead. If your preferred Friday is gone, consider a Thursday or a weeknight: you’ll have more choices and often better pricing.
Pick entertainment for a mixed crowd
Holiday parties bring together every age and department. Music from the 90s and 2000s works because almost everyone knows it. Ask for a clean show so nobody is uncomfortable.
Keep the production simple
A band that brings its own sound engineer saves you from hiring a separate audio company. Share the band’s stage plot with your venue early.
Build a timeline
A common flow: arrival and drinks, dinner with softer music, a few words from leadership, then the dance set. Plan the band’s biggest set for after speeches, when people are ready to celebrate.
Don’t forget the details
Confirm load-in times, parking, power and any venue sound limits. Ask whether the band can play the background music during dinner as well.

Little Moses Jones is a Denver live band playing 90s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop, with our own sound engineer and a clean show. We’ve performed for Google, Pearson and a Denver Broncos pregame. See our corporate events page or check your December date.
